Adult Improver Course

The club usually runs one or two Improver courses a year, starting in April and September, at a cost of £120. These are group coaching courses designed to getting beginners or players who are a little rusty up to social tennis standards. These courses are a great success and many full members start with the club on these courses.

The course includes :

  • 10 weekly one-hour coaching lessons followed by practice time
  • 6 months membership of club
  • use of club facilities with specified practice times and the opportunity to book free courts

At the end of the six month period, improvers can renew for a further six months and do another course, or take up another form of membership, subject to availability and playing standard. Normally, improvers can only do a maximum of two consecutive courses, to allow people from the waiting list to take up a place.

The Improver course is very popular and there is generally a waiting list. If you would like to be added to the waiting list , please email bctcmembers@gmail.com.

Junior Coaching

We have a thriving junior section with over 100 children, most of whom attend coaching sessions throughout the week. Even though we focus on skill and technical development of every child, we try to base most of the learning on fun and enjoyment, without the pressures that sport can cause. Our main aim is for children to enjoy tennis into adulthood.

In addition to these term-time sessions, Kerris organises courses during Easter and Summer holidays.

For more information on junior membership, coaching sessions and holiday courses, see the Juniors page, follow this link to Kerris’ junior coaching website Absolute Tennis Bristol, or contact Kerris Weatherley directly.

Club coaching

Members can arrange their own group coaching as required. Occasional free cardio or doubles coaching is offered by the club; advertised by email, on the website or on the noticeboards.

Private coaching

Private coaching can be booked through Kerris Weatherley.
